I have a 2013 Tacoma TRD. I installed fox shocks on rear and fox coil overs on front. Added air bags to rear for increased stability while towing. My ride has consequently gone to hell, regardless of whether the bags have any air in them or not. Could my issue be with my rear shocks? Would love to get some feedback, as my kidneys can no longer take it!

good luck with your new truck. Do those bags require any air when not towing

Air bags on leaf springs don't increase comfort like on a mercedes, they are for load distribution.

The Firestone ride rites requires 5-10 lbs with no load.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Trouble shoot it. Remove the bags and drive it without them . If it's comfortable without the bags, you'll know what to address

I feel like I am in the same situation as the OP. New Fox 2.5 RR extended travel coilovers up front set to provide 2 inch lift and Fox 2.0 RR in the back with wheelers 1.5" AAL in back and I also have Firestone bags. Truck has been lifted for 10 years. Was on ICON's but after 180k miles they were done. New Fox's are better but I was expecting a world of difference going from 10 year old 180k mile shocks to brand new dessert racing shocks tuned by Accutune. I am not impressed. I just feel every little crack in the pavement. Can't imagine how anyone could off-road with these things if they can't even smooth out the pavement. It wasn't like this a few years ago but even new shocks all around didn't help much.

Could it be something else? Like LCA bushings and ball joints. Firestone tech says those are fine. What else could it be?

Hi Keith, sorry to hear you're having a rough ride. Air bags are a huge red flag, they don't allow the suspension to move (even when empty).

I recommend contacting our sales team so they can run through your suspension and figure out what's going on.
Your best bet is to send them an email Sales@AccuTuneOFFROAD.com and give them a run down on your suspension setup.

I will contact them, however, I already gave them a rundown of my suspension setup when ordering the shocks so they could be tuned to my setup. As for the airbags, I've had them for years and they were never a problem. Lots of people have them with no complaints of rough ride. I could see if they were aired up to 50psi with an empty bed but that's not the case.
