Hi guys, new to the forum and possibly new Tacoma owner. Looking for a Toyota service tech in the Burlington, MA area. Looking to buy a used Tacoma from a dealership at a great deal. Put deposit down and dealer now stating the car failed their inspection and wont sell to me.
Looking to have my own tech take a look.

if they won't sell it to you what is the point in having a tech look at it?

Sounds like they wanted a reason to give you your deposit back and sell it to someone else at a higher price.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Just hate how dealers play these games. And I really like the truck.

did you ask the dealer to provide any proof? I'm assuming you had a written agreement with them for the truck. then check the vin on google to see if it pops up.

My advice? Walk away. Either the truck has genuine issues or the dealer has issues. Either way, this is why you suppress emotions during a transaction; don't get attached to a vehicle until your name is on the title. You should be able to walk at any sign of trouble, and if a dealer wants to walk it's not necessarily a good thing. Because if you continue pursuing this, probability says that you're going to get screwed.
