I'm buying my first Tacoma next week and found one that i really liked. Its a 2001 DC TRD 4x4, Automatic 6 cy. 157000 miles It seems to be well taken care of,but of course I haven't seen it yet. It has running board and a canopy. There asking $13995 with I feel is about $1500 too much. Let me know what you experts think.

    Thanks,
    Marc

Those who have a first gen are very proud of them, and want to sell for a high price. It's all about the truck. How many owners, miles, and what the overall condition is. Take it in to a Toyota delearship for an inspection. You cant put a pricetag on piece of mind.

It's a dealership and I agree with taking it to a mechanic first . I'm excited to own my first Tacoma so I don't want to make a mistKe and get a lemon. Thanks for the advice.

That price is not unreasonable for the Pacific NW.
