i wanted to get my front spacers put in before i get the suspension replaced but i dont want them saying something dumb so i may just have to wait and pay for a re-alignment afterwards

This is correct and all you need to know. They don't have the luxury of refusing. Mine ordered right away when I told him the TSB #.

If he has the TRD they wont replace the shocks, just the leafs. He currently has 3 leafs in the back and they will put a whole new kit in with a 4th leaf. His shocks stay the same though.

The TRD comes with Bilsteins all the way around. If you have a non-TRD truck they get upgraded to the Bilsteins that come with the TRD package. If you already have the TRD package you already have the shocks they are using as an upgrade so all you get is the 4 leaf pack. I had it done a couple weeks ago. After i had mine done i did a write up describing the change in ride characteristics. Here is a link to that if you're interested....

Here's my update on round 2 with the dealer. Brought my truck in with a 760 lbs load. Had it bottom out on me in the dealers driveway. Now they had told me a toyota service rep was supposed to evaluate my truck. I left it there and when i came back they told me that i didnt need the TSB . They couldnt duplicate the bottoming out. I asked to speak with this rep . They told me i wasnt allowed to. BS. I lit into the customer relations mgr. It was bottoming out on me and im not even near the limit . I ask if i just needed to go buy more rocks till it does botttom for him. I'll be calling Toyota direct again. I let them know that i will be making lots of calls . Now this dealer previously had changed my address on my paperwork to prevent me from getting a cust review. Now i believe they told me my truck was being evaluated by a Toyota rep that i was not allowed to speak to (im sure that he doesnt exist). Saturday I'm taking it to the dealer where i bought it. Anybody in the SOCAL area. NEVER TAKE YOUR TRUCK TO MOSS BROS TOYOTA . THEY ARE SHADY.

thats a bunch of BS. I had actually emailed Toyota prior to taking my truck in. Toyota actually called Carlsbad Toyota and informed them of my problem. I then got an email from Toyota stating that Carlsbad Toyota will look into it, and if I wasnt happy to give them a call........... So Cooperate and the dealer do talk....Good luck.
    Bring it into Carlsbad !!!

wow...not to be childish or anything, but heres what i would've done...when he told me i can't talk to the representative, if i was pissed enough, i'd just stand there and not say a word. i would then undo my belt, unbutton my pants, and piss in the middle of the offices...then just walk away. now i'm sure they'd call the cops and you'd get a ticket or something, but it would be worth it for the story. plus whats the worst that could happen...get banned from a dealership that sucks more than the business end of a straw?

I had no problem getting the dealer to replace my suspension under warranty. The only problem I do have is that ALL the parts were on backorder for the first 3 weeks after they were ordered. As of this time, all 4 shocks and axle bolts are in. Waiting for the upgraded rear leafs to arrive. Replacement time is approx 5 hrs including alignment. Cant complain because this is upgrading the truck to TRD specs and its a freebie.
With the cap, and fully loaded with my gear, the rear does sag with under 800 lbs.

Sometimes it does help to go in with a positive attitude, and a visit to the local coffee shop before talking to the service manager, along with 2 doz donuts. I was a service manager for years and believe me, if you came in hot headed, it didnt help matters.

Here's my update from about 2 years ago. After being declined for my rear spring tsb 3 times at the closest dealership to my house i was frustrated. Today i decided to try 1 more time. Took my truck to the dealership where i bought it. Told them i had a squeaky drivers seat and when loaded with approx. 500lbs it bottoms out. There is a tsb for squeaky seats. They fixed my seat, and without any argument or problem they ordered my rear springs.I'm supposed to get a card in the mail when they get the parts.
