I tell people if they look at the CDs in my truck I guarantee they find at least one they never heard of and at least one that surprises them to see.

I remember about 10 yrs ago 3 ladies I work with seeing me pull into work with Black Eyed Peas blasting on the stereo and seeing me with hair halfway down my back get out of the truck..too funny.

Maybe too people just don't have exposure to much. I was blessed to have a cousin who was 14-15 live with us when I was 7 yrs old and he turned me on to AC/DC, Def Leppard, the Eagles, Sabbath...so many. I learned about Black Flag from a bike magazine I read when I was 12.

Don't care for much newer stuff of any kind, though I don't listen to radio at all. Halestorm is one I think might be for real actually..

Wow, that's got to be intense. But how would a gun help in this situation? If some one tosses a cocktail through your window, that does not give you the legal right to shoot them.

So all, this talk about protecting yourself and family, I'm going to share what my family went through this week
    http://www.fosters.com/news/20170329/man-killed-another-seriously-hurt-in-route-16-crash

What's not stated is the BOLO that was out for the driver of the other vehicle. Multiple calls had been made because the Yukon had attempted to run into other vehicles. its not the weapons, which can be a knife, poison, pressure cooker, gun or vehicle to mention just a couple thing, it's people. I am absolutely furious, but there is not a dam thing we could have done to stop this, or is there? As a society we need to help our fellow humans, we need to respect each other, we need to understand these folks seeking to hurt others have irrational thoughts and there brains are not working as they should. We need to change the path our civilization is on. Does this mean to take away our weapons, no as I stated there are too many things that can be used, we need to change our thinking about jumping to use weapons, we need to learn how to manage our emotions and help those in our civilization who struggle to have respect for themselves and others.

I agree...I'm a helper not a hurter. As for civilization and saving some people from themselves, I can only do my part. I think there are more good people than bad in the world...at least I hope so.

The reason the Molotov cocktail incident made me think of taking responsibilty of my own personal security is because it scared the hell out of me. And if someone firebombs my house I'm probably gonna want to fire back because they might be waiting outside to pick everyone off as people are escaping.

I've never met a responsible firearms owner that has a raging hard on to shoot people. In fact it's the absolute last thing I would ever want to do. Sometimes the world forces unpleasant situations upon us. It's up to each of us how to react.

It's that negative expectation. Seems some folks just expect the worst of others.

Not even sure how to respond to that. Someone tosses a WMD (and yes it can be considered a WMD) and you think there no legal right to defend yourself. I can guarantee you if anything gives you a legal right THAT one will.

No, because if you go out side and the offender is not armed, you are not in harms way. No self defense.

Would I want to shoot them, yep and probably would.

At that point, there's no expectation that a thrower of a firebomb would not be armed with other weapons as well. Besides even if they didn't bring an additional weapon to a firebombing, they came on the scene armed...so the whole "unarmed argument" doesn't make sense.

However...no one knows how a prosecutor or a judge is going to look at things. New York City might view this scenario diffently than "everywhere else USA".

I want to say "when in doubt shoot it out"...but maybe it's better to say "you've got to do what you have to in order to protect yourself and others in the given situation."

My take on the molotov situation is that a gun would be absolutely handy to have. Now, you can't just run outside and shoot the guy standing there (or, at least you shouldn't IMO) but you should entirely expect them to be armed, and treat them as such. Let's say you go outside to escape your burning house and their hands are up. Can't shoot them. Let's say you run outside and they're holding another one, ready to throw it. Or their digging through a backpack and pull their hands out quickly. Then I'd 100% shoot them.

I agree 100%. You have to be careful that innocent bystanders across a parking lot or street don't get caught in the crossfire as well. A lot of situational stuff to consider. If the guy has his hands up I'm keeping my gun pointed at him though until the police come :D

Of course the longer the guy is able to move around the more of a threat he is to the whole community.

I just thought, it'd be hilarious if you could put a flat screen TV or monitor up against one of your windows, and have this bird on there ,

But also have it saying, "The agencies are aware of your activities, you're being watched and recorded"... And have a little two chirp whistle to get their attention, so they'd look.

    UPDATE: Since my last update:
    1. No active selling crap at my address.

    2. Clunker car that is now taped together in areas has had it's tags removed. It has a flat tire.

    3. Recently he drove this POS and is now parked on the driveway in which he resides.

    4. Trash was piling up in front of his house. Trash service will not pick the trash up. This tells me someone isn't paying homeowners assoc fees. Trash blows into everyone elses yard.

Since my last post the local PD has been paying our neighborhood some regular visits and his car in particular. He most likely got some sort of ticket, which would explain the moving of the car onto private property and removal of the plates. I'm still planning to meet with the PD. I figured I'll have a running list of suspicious activity for them to consider. But this matter might resolve itself without my involvement hopefully.

This guy seems to know how to work the system and evade anything that requires energy or responsibility.

Also, I learned something that seemingly defies common sense. Last Friday a neighbors tree (Bradford pear) blew down during a storm and landed in the yards of the neighbors next door and another one two doors down. It hit both houses on the way down and caused some minor damage. One home is totally obstructed...can't get in or out through the front door or garage.

Come to find out, insurance doesn't cover trees hitting houses in storms. On top of that, the property owner that owns the tree doesn't have to lift a finger to clear it away or pay damages. All of this falls onto the shoulders of the neighbors affected by the damage. Unbelievable!

The damn tree laid in place from Friday until Monday.
