Got a question, was some work out by our farms and I nicked the side of my truck against the tongue of one of our trailers at low speeds, 5 mph or less, 7x12 trailer all steel, majority damage on the rear passenger door and cab corner with a little bit on the front. what do you guys suggest in terms of repair? Would prefer PDR over conventional methods. Heads up a portion of the cab corner had paint damage so I primed that and then repainted. It. Still need to work on blending it into the OEM paint and a little bit on the rear passenger door got paint damage so I also primed that and then put touch of paint on it. It's not the best but I really don't care about appearance. I just didn't want to rust out, happened in Fall of 2023 about September or October. Just never got around to repairing it properly. What do you guys suggest? Also, do I need to worry about any structural damage

PDR won't do a thing on those dent's as the type isn't conducive to that repair. I wouldn't worry about frame damage, structural with the center post would depend on if it is actually dented. If it's the 21 in your pic, it's worth it to get it fixed properly, you do have full coverage on the vehicle? It'll be a couple grand easy to repair it correctly and repaint the panels.

The bed side is also a bit dented in , that's why the wheel looks like it sticks out farther , from the back it looks normal

Honestly, if the cab corner then can't come out with PDR, I'm probably going to have it professionally touched up at like a body shop because what happened? It was down to bare metal so I sanded it sprayed it with primer and then I'm terrible with painting with like a brush. So that's why the paint looks kind of terrible. So I'll probably just have them sand it down to the primer again and then just do it with their machine and then not worry about the dent and then I'll get the door dings out with PDR because there was no paint damage on those and they're pretty shallow from what I'm looking at

to repair correctly that whole side of the truck is going to get painted, well almost, as they blend it in since you got into the fender too.
First reaction was i'd get a body guy to fix it then bedliner, possibly body color, from the body line down.

So the bedside/ fender is not does not have any paint damage. It just dented in a bit so I'm going to get that done with PDR and then get all the door dings done with PDR and then I was talking to a body shop and they can basically spot spray it and blend it in correctly. For the cab corner dent if a PDR cannot pull that out I'll just leave that there. I mean I really don't care that much. It primarily gets used up by the farms

Because it was down to bare metal. So I sanded it with first 80 and then 180 grit and then 320 and then what I did is I bought some epoxy primer that comes in a rattle can I sprayed that down onto the areas and then for the touch up paint, I'm terrible with a paintbrush so that's why it looks terrible but it will get done eventually. It just I didn't want it rust out, happened in September or October of 2023. Just never got around to fixing it properly

If you are worrying about rust you could use WD40 or something similar. Don't spray it directly, just spray WD40 on the towel and then rub it on the dented small area, if all is good do same for rest. WD40 will kinda coat over and make sure it won't rust out.

Now like i said only try small area, don't spray directly. I have not used WD40 on paint and I don't know how it will affect paint but as far as not rusting out, that's the only solution I see.

Those are Farm Stripes! Let your Tacoma wear them proudly! In rat rod and guitar circles that is considered "mojo" and people will pay more for that kind of patina! Hit it with some cosmoline and go do some burnouts!:)

per will cost a fortune due to huge & lots of dents & will be far, far from perfect....
that driver side front door area has no chance with pdr...
The front edge of the door where theres a factory roll, 2 layers of metal, pinches, etc is really hard to manipulate....

Im a per fan boy & have a guy that worked at my dealer / place of employment for a long time as a bodyman before he went full time pdr, he's busy......
Ive seen him do amazing work on panels that should have been replaced, mangled, sharp creases, huge deep jagged dents etc....

Youre truck & per would be a huge waste of resources, not a cost effective method vs just filing a claim & pay your deductible.....
If you truly want it fixed....

Not going to remove all of them right now. Just the cab corner and then the other on the front of the rear passenger door and I'll just maybe leave it at that because the rest really doesn't matter and they can be taken care of later
