First rule of working with car dealers: Assume nothing. :D

Now let us know when you get back from checking that the spare tire's still there. :)

Just be sure to take Carfax with a grain of salt.

Indeed. I've personally noted repaired crash damage, albeit minor, on a car that has a crystal clean carfax report.

There's one thing I just realized yesterday, it seems most limiteds come with the factory tonneau cover. Mine didn't, I'm guessing it was removed and sold. :(

My BMW had a pristine carfax and a shop found some quarter panel repair that was never reported. Carfax is definitely only as good as the reporting.

You last chance to truly hold it to them was when the truck pulled into your drive way. After reading more, it sounds like you set up the shipping, thus when they picked up the yota at the dealership was actually your last chance, that's when you took delivery.

Military can use there home state, atleast that's what it was at one time. Around here we have folks that have something in Florida and thus register in Florida to save on excise taxes.

If so then they'd have swapped rails and posts and other bits with a different truck. That's actually how my dealer got me my ordered truck sooner; they found one in the pipeline that matched what I wanted in every way but the tonneau and swapped with one on their lot. (they made sure I was okay with it and I was)

I just glanced at a couple local (ATL) dealers and few of the Limiteds have the tonneau. (I'm going by pictures of the actual trucks)

Weird. I just did a quick search and 7/10 of the first 10 I checked all had a tonneau. Maybe I didn't have one, but it seems like it's more common than not. It's possible it's regional, but the search I did was national.

*shrug* Who knows. It could be regional. It could be people buying Limiteds in ATL all want the tonneau and snap them up when the come in, leaving the ones I saw.

I think the only thing conclusive is unless you find a way to obtain or generate the original build configuration, you're probably never gonna know. :D

Yep, I'm over the whole issue. Looking at the truck I received, even with the issues and shipping headaches, I'm happy. 6 pages of forum thread therapy helped.

    Thanks everyone!
