17 at best for a Tacoma vs. 14 everywhere with the Tundra is " horrific"?

I get more pissed about having to stop for fuel more often with the Tacoma because of the smaller tank.

When towing, the pulling isn't the big concern... Stopping is. Small trucks tow small trailers and big trucks tow big trailers. That's just the way it goes.

I am just up the street from you in SC. I love my Tacoma. I'm in the mountains of north GA occasionally and prefer the smaller truck for getting around.

The heart wants what it wants... Get the truck you want. Just remember, every choice is a compromise of sorts.

Get the truck you want. I got the SR5 at a great deal but sometimes I wished I waited and spent a little more and got the TRD offroad.

I would say Tacoma and maybe wait for 2017....maybe there might be some improvements to the new model year.

What date do you guys think OP will be able to have a 2017? A ton of those will be spoken for out the gate. It might be a year wait. Not worth it imo. 2016 easy game.

A year wait for a 2017? I don't believe it would take that long.

If I am understanding the issue correctly Carol, your order did get the Technology Package with moonroof, just not the JBL system and subwoofer. Is that correct? Based on your description and the prices, that is how it appears.

At nearly 72 years old I wouldn't think the JBL subwoofer and audio system would be a show stopper. I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, but for me, the system they added to your truck is actually preferred. The more expensive audio system takes up all the cargo space behind the right rear seat. If you don't need the more advanced system I would go with the original order. You'll save about $800 and still have the truck you want.

    Cheers

Hey, guys .......... I called Toyota at the 800 number .... I was directed to the Cincinnati Hub or the Gulf States Hub ... I called a Toyota dealership in Nashville first ..... then found www.cargurus.com .... GUESS WHO HAS MY TACOMA????????????

Bill Penney Toyota in Huntsville, Alabama!!! I sent them an email last night after hours, then called them a few minutes ago. Their salesman, Vernon Mason, called me right back and they're sending me the Window Sticker ...... it even has mud flaps ...

AND the only downside is that it's a SHORT BED, but you know what???? I can live with a short bed if everything else is there ... and it appears it is!!!

Down to the SUNROOF aka Moon Roof ....... does anyone wonder if I will MOON with my moon roof? I'm taking bets. lololol

And here's the nice thing ... they'll DRIVE it to me as a courtesy! It's 140 miles from my house ... all the logistics of driving over there and back ... would have been $200 but they're doing it for FREE. Well not Free-Free. The truck is costing me nearly $44,000!

AND NO to those of you who are saying ... this woman is NUTZ ... well YES, I am ... I have not driven the Tacoma ... but then I want to be a Virgin just Once More in my Lifetime and This is it .... [you laughed, didn't you?]

Paperwork is in the works and I'm dancing nekkid inside my clothes.

Everyone, please GRIN for me! And let out a holler so I can hear it from North Georgia!

Thank you all for all your help, guidance, comments and for letting me go crazy on ya.

Wooooooooooohoooooooooooooooo, I'm about to own my own Taco!

The JBL wasn't the problem ... it was the MOONROOF and the back up assist and cross traffic alert. Southeast Toyota doesn't put the MoonRoof on their orders .... go figure.

From reading what others say, the JBL isn't all that awesome. But a MoonRoof, now THAT is awesome.

    Thanks for your input.

Well good for you finding what you want and not settling for less. Be careful on the roads to Alaska, whatch out for the nuts in California. party hard with the folks in Florida. and well Texas is Texas their a special bunch. Maybe our paths will cross in Quartzsite AZ in January with all the other nuts towing little fiberglass trailers. Look out for a 1016 Tacoma access cab in Quicksand towing a little Scamp 13 foot.
Might want to check out Fiberglassrv.com A Scamp or Casita trailer in the 16 to 18 foot range just might fit the bill for your new truck.

Good for you Coosa! I'm 73 years old and I'm on my third Tacoma. I bought the SR5 six banger and it had everything I needed in it. I'm too old to wait for stuff, if I see it, and want it, I get it!

Congrats on finding your dream truck! I love the Quicksand color! It is by far the best looking!

If you want a nice little travel trailer, I would look at Scamp. I've seen a few during various camping trips and they are the best! One day I'll have one, hopefully! http://www.scamptrailers.com/

Change in plans .... I'm going to pick up "Crepe Myrtle Suzette" aka Myrtle on FRIDAY in Huntsville.

Did anyone hear my SCREAM OF JOY???

She is MINE, all MINE. I can't get the Camper shell I wanted, but I'll get one I can use ... I'll have to sleep sideways in the Short Bed, but HEY .... I HAVE A MOONROOF .............. and I'm so excited.

Quit laughing ... oh ... go ahead and laugh. How often do you see a 71 and a half year old woman get excited over a Pickup Truck?

    Woooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooo ..... YES.

Have you seen the OLIVER? http://olivertraveltrailers.com/

I learned one bit of advice from some people at an RV show ... your first travel trailer is never your last. So my first may be something I learn on.

    OR, .....

I will look at all my options.
    Thanks,
