I'm waiting for the payoff check to get to TFS. It'll probably be the week after Christmas before it does. I've been working 12hr shifts with this snow since Friday but I'll have a chance to bug them next week.

Christ, they sure are slow to fix this nonsense.

Good for you that you are busy enough with work not to stew on it more than i am sure you have to be.

I emailed Debra and she said the check was sent out to TFS this week. I'll keep checking online and start calling them next week. I have a feeling TFS will take forever. I made a payment on 12/19. Its still 'in process'.

I stopped by Ourisman Fairfax Toyota to take a look at the magnetic grey 2010 4x4 Sport they had and I drove it home 3hrs later.

I told the salesman about everything that I've been going through and where things were right now. I told him that I really didn't want to go forward with a purchase without the money from Koons in hand. The sales manager called Debra at Koons and she told him that the payoff check was sent to TFS on Monday and said that the check for me had already been cut and was ready for me. The sales manager said that the purchase wouldn't be a problem and he could help get this finished by contacting TFS and getting them to push the title out so that I could get the check from Koons to pay Ourisman with.

I brought a copy of the letter that Debra wrote which said they would pay the $13K once they received the title. They made a copy of that and attached it to a promisary note and gave me two weeks to pay that to them. They said that Koons should have the title by next week.

I know I probably did it backwards but I guess I just couldn't help myself. I guess I felt comfortable knowing that TFS has the check and the sales manager will help get this finished quickly. The truck looks great and its good to be back in a Tacoma. This should be all done by the new year...

Grabbed these before it got dark! I have a magnetic grey boner right now. I am really looking forward to putting the anthracite FJ rims on this thing.

Glat to see a happy ending to this thread. What a nightmare, it made for some good reading though. Hope everything turns out good with the new truck, It looks like a beauty. Have fun with the lift and post up some pics when you are done with it.

Thank you! Not quite out of the woods yet, but very soon it seems. I'll let you guys know when TFS follows through with the title and I have the check from Koons.

I probably won't do much with it until spring unless it warms up or I get that kerosene jet heater thing that I was asking for xmas so I can work outside year round. I think I'll give it a couple months anyway to make sure there are no problems before I really start putting all the mods back on.

Nice looking truck! Now you need to do something to take that shine off those tires. That just doesn't look right. ;)

I'm really glad to hear that things are working out and that you are well on the road to recovery. :D

And yeah, those guys at the dealer will do just about anything to get you to drive your next vehicle off the lot. We did something similar, signing a note and driving our '06 home that Saturday just a couple months ago. I returned on Monday with a check and they shredded the note. Sounds like that's what the dealer did for you.

Access Cabs are the best looking Tacomas IMO. I'll look forward to seeing it next summer with the mods installed.

    Cheers and Merry Christmas.
