Need advice on removing liner to fit topper

    I finally found a topper that's a great match for my 2000 xtra cab. the plastic liner/shell on the bed is making it so it doesn't fit quite right...i'm not sure where to post my question so hoping someone can direct me to some advice on removing the bed liner and properly fitting the topper.

    Just trim the top of the rails with a dremel.

    I have only owned a 2nd and 3rd gen. The rails are just caps/trim pieces that can be removed.
