I am new to TW, but I have had my 04 Prerunner for 10 years now. I am looking to give the old truck a face-lift. I think I have finally decided to do the follow mods provided this setup will work:

    1. ToyTec Bilstein Adjustable lift kit (Bilsteins 5100 and Eibachs on front, bilsteinstruts on rear). Looking to raise front 3" and level it out with an AAL in the rear or whatever it takes to get it pretty level.

    2. I am currently hoping that the 18x9 XD Revolver wheels will work. They have a backspacing of 4.5. I have read that this will help with rubbing issues.

    3. I would like to run the widest possible tire without major rubbing. After reading and reading I have pretty much settled on the 285/65/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Will these work?

This is the plan. I know this has been hammered a lot on these forums, but I can't seem to find this exact setup being discussed with a 1st gen tacoma. What do you guys think?

I appreciate the help guys! Looking forward to ordering this stuff once I get the okay from yall!

    1. why don't you just get the eibachs and bilsteins? toytec is reaming people for that adjustable collar on their coilovers its truly a waste of money.

    2. 4.5" backspacing is stock backspacing for a 1st gen. wherever your wheel sticks out to now will be exactly where it is with the XD's. if you run a wider tire you might run into clearance issues with the UCA.

    3. your tire choice should be alright you might have to trim a little and beat on some shit but they'll fit in there....barely

Thanks for the quick reply! Lots of info on this board and its good to get a direct answer on what I am specifically planning on doing. I will look for the bilsteins and eibachs separately vs going through toytec. Thanks!

you can still go thru Toytec, still a reputable company that I do business with, just order the eibachs and bilsteins separately. unless you want to just buy a real coilover like icon or fox but that's a pretty penny in comparison.
