Lemon laws differ from state to state, however sounds like you have grounds for a successful case with your rear-end issues.
I've had good service out of my Tacomas, own a '96 with 412,000 miles without a single trip the the dealer and a 2018 the same thing.

The least of your issues, the passenger seat Squeaky / Creaking is simply your seat inner side bolster rubbing against your center console. My 2018 did the same thing until I applied some 303 between and it stopped.

They are able to duplicate the issues, except for the most recent ones to occur which are stuttering motor, and then the one day I received a low oil pressure warning light the next day accompanied with a check engine light. The popping and clicking noise they said was a characteristic of the vehicle, even though it didn’t start until after the repair they did on the rear differential. I appreciate the input!

The squeaking is actually coming from the bolster on the passenger door side. He said it was the foam rubbing on the rail. Thanks for the input! Glad to hear your trucks have been reliable.

Thank you, I truly appreciate it. I’m sure it was all get sorted eventually.

How long has it been since you got your diff replaced and you starting the noise. When do you hear the noise exactly? Going over bumps? When tapping the accelerator? Could that be your new diff needs to break in before it'll stop making noise.

I am not allowed to comment on specifics, but had a 16 with 'issues'. After #3 state lemon law goes into effect. Called corporate as well, was given a name and number for a specifics person. Toyota towed my 16 to the local dealer on a Sunday. Got my refund and was given an amazing deal on any vehicle they had.

Lemon law depends on state I believe, but 2 EMCs, and the dealer lied about manually checking trans fluid, documented it was OK and when the 'head honcho' came, I was almost a quart low. Got the full refund that day, and offered an unreal deal on the same day - not by the dealer but a corporate SE supervisor.

I have perpetual bad luck, but Toyota has always made everything better. Not right, but better than right. Ask for a manual TF check, and keep the 'bill'. Your local dealer may cut corners, but regional supervisors get things done. And I've found certain dealers are MUCH better than others. Like when I say don't change the pressure on my KO2s, and they document a pressure change/rotation and I manually test it and it's 25PSI off per tire?!

Some dealers are unscrupulous, but Toyota USA will fix it, but you have to let them know.

Dude, just wanted to say I feel for you. The third gen I'm driving was the first new vehicle I bought since an 03 STi. Sometimes dealers make you frustrated in new ways previously not thought possible. I haven't experienced that with the Tacoma but I did with the Subaru. For the majority of people, brand new vehicles don't come around super frequently, so your current situation is pretty Bill Cosby. In any case I hope you get to make some lemonade out of your current sour situation.

Rear diff was replaced at 960 Miles, it now has 4,800 miles. As long as I’m accelerating, it’s there. Unless the motor drones it out by going over 2.5k rpms. Happens on acceleration and deceleration. Usually lower speeds and goes faster and faster as the truck goes. When I go over bumps my passenger seat rattles in its rails. Thanks for the input!

Not to sound stupid, but what is an EMC? Wow I’m glad they did everything they could to make it right for you. At this point it’s kind of the only thing I truly have left it seems. Like I said, my truck was at the dealer 6-7 times now, 4 for the same issues, once for 5 hours, once for 2, 2 times for 2 whole days plus an overnight, and then the last time regarding the same issue it sat for a whole week and I was told they never even looked at it. Thanks for the input!

Wow I’m kind of shocked. I came from a WRX had an A/C compressor bad from the factory. I’ve never experienced such good service. I’m really sorry to hear that though and thank you for the input!

My 2019 TRDOR also has a slight vibration between 10 and 30 MPH, when it is either accelerating and decelerating. It’s bearable, but still disappointing for a truck with only 700 miles that is otherwise pretty refined.

I have a question: our trucks use direct injection. The key benefit of direct injection is fuel efficiency. One of the known side-effects of direction is increased harsh and vibration. Has anyone looked if the engine mounts are transferring unwanted vibration to the frame and the rest of the vehicle?

Still, take to a new dealer. Ask them check your rear diff and ensure everything and your rear spring U-bolt are torqued properly are within proper tolerances. Since you say on acceleration and deceleration. Make sure you have nothing loose sliding around in your bed or bed cubbies, spare tire chain is zip tied to ensure you remove possible candidates of noise. Another possibility is maybe your driveshaft is not aligned properly or that you are hearing the slack in the differential gears making noise which would be considered normal to a certain degree. Perhaps test drive another truck and compare to make sure you are not just hearing things.

I am unsure. I am sure someone with alittle more knowledge of these trucks will be able to tell you or offer some insight.

Nothing is sliding or anything. The noise is rhythmic, always the same pattern, etc. The Service Manager, and technician heard the noise. To me, now that you point it out, it sounds like loose slack or movement in the drivetrain(inside the truck it sounds like popping and clicking, from the outside it sounds like metal on metal that corresponds with the rotation of the driveshaft) where it connects to the rear diff. Dang. Thanks for pointing that out! Edit: they kept telling me they couldn’t hear it the first 3 times, then finally pointed out they said oh yeah and the truck sat a week at the dealer without being touched or even checked, and then about two week ago they said “oh it’s a characteristic of the vehicle the field tech told us”. Some times, I can hear it over the radio...

Yeah it’s been a long few months.

The D4S injection technology for our 2GR engine utilizes both direct and port injection... it’s Toyota magic:

Do not get a lawyer involved unless you have to. Once you tell the dealer or they find out there is a lawyer involved they will STOP all communications and will not touch your truck.

I don't need to tell you how long a legal process will take,

    Sorry to hear about this

Can you set up a camera to video the problems and should any warning lights come back on, take a picture and write down what was going on, speed, RPM, where, outside temps, everything you can think of.

As for everything the dealer says it normal operations of the truck, ask them to take you for a ride in another new truck and see if the problems or noises are there. Again videos if possible to show the difference between your truck and another. If the dealer will not take you for a ride, get other 19’s owners to help you document this

You bought a Tacoma. You can trade it and not take a huge beating if you are only $3500 upside down. I would rather eat that then deal with intermittent issues for the next few years on a problematic truck.... I let my 2016 go because of issues I did not want to deal with. But in my case, the same drivetrain and design are used in the 17,18, and 19 models. I lost confidence in the third gen. waiting to see what they do next.

Hope they get you sorted out. Im in the same camp as you with constant issues since I bought it. Toyota will do as little as possible and as slowly as possible to work things out, if at all. Im also just a little flipped and and don't want to pay it upfront. So im in this for probs a year more before I ditch it. Which sucks because I absolutely hate driving this thing D/T shitty trans issues.

Video above if ya wanna check it out. Yeah I’m exploring lemon law and seeking advice here first regarding the issues and all to see if anyone else has experienced it.

Videos above if ya wanna check them out. They had an exact identical truck to mine 2019 magnetic gray Access Cab ling bed auto SR six package. They test drove that and said it made the same popping/clicking noise, and the seat squeaked(We were not there to see it/hear it). We got a 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR Double Cab Short Bed and the passenger seat didn’t squeak, and couldn’t hear a popping/clicking noise.

I leased mine. I’m sorry to hear about the problems that you’re experiencing with your truck and hope it is fixed for ya.

As stated above, don’t want to go that route due to everything that accompanies it etc.

Hey I hope they get yours sorted out too. I wish you the best and hope that everything works out for ya.
