Hi all, I've been on this site for a while now. I don't post much because most of the topics have been covered. I'm looking to finally lift my 2012 Taco. It's a 4 door XSP-X model. I've done a lot of searching and I think I have narrowed it down but before I bite the bullet I wanted to get some opinions.

My goals are simple: 2.5 - 3 inch lift, good on road ride quality, and not breaking the bank. Ideally I'd like the truck to be level or the back a little higher similar to how it is stock just higher. This truck will be on the highway a lot for work which is why I'd like it to be comfortable. There's no real places to go offroading around here so it doesn't need to be trail ready. The most it will see is the occasional flooding we get, sand, and mud.

I've narrowed it down to the OME kit (details below) with LR UCA's. I spoke with Dan at Wheelers Off Road (got the recommendation from a thread on here) and he is recommending OME kit (includes dakars for the rear) with a 10mm enhancer kit. I'd like to not have to replace brake lines.

Anyway, that should cover it. I know there have been a ton of threads on here about this stuff and I've read most of them at this point but I'm just looking for a few last minute opinions. Thanks.

    Kit Details:
Includes NitroCharger Sport front and rear shocks, 2885 front coil springs, CS047R Dakar rear leaf springs w/ Wheeler’s polyurethane bushings, 95PF5 front trim packer for driver side strut, FK29 driveline bearing drop kit and Wheeler’s u-bolts! Normally we’d supply 2885 front coils but if you have another preference let us know.

That kit is great and sounds like what you are looking for. A ton of people on here use that kit. The other decent option is LR UCA's with Billie 5100's w/ Eibach or 885x(2885) coils and either Dakar or All Pro Standard/Expo leaf pack. You wont need to replace any brake lines. What are your plans for tires and wheels?

Oh and since it is pretty known. Expect some type of driveline vib after lifting it. We have a two piece drive shaft that once lifted changes the angle. Most people on here have it and some have found a fix. Don't freak out if you have it afterwards. I am tired of all those threads lol

dakars are going to be VERY stiff, unless you drive around with weight in your bed all the time, you might reconsider.

This is going to be a stupid question but what does it feel like/when does it vibrate?

I was concerned about that too. I don't usually have any major weight in the bed of the truck.

Its just a slight shudder for me around 5-10mph. Nothing major. If its your steering wheels or seats shacking its more than likely your wheels out of balance

For people that don't use much weight in the back, the All Pro standards are great. I have them and never have weight in the back and they also can hold a lot of weight if needed.

Or this if they wanna take apart the leaf pack and put back together. I opted not to do that.

doesn't sound too bad but would this still happen with a 2-2.5 inch lift?

Vibes could happen with any changes to the stock suspension

Some people get vibes and some don't. Lift it and you'll find out which bucket you fall into. If you get the vibes there are a bunch of threads with steps to take to alleviate them. Sometimes it works.

The XSP-X package came with wheels and a set bf goodrich rugged terrain t/a tires. I am planning on keeping those on there for a bit. They still have plenty of life left on them. After that, who knows.

I was torn between the OME and the Toytec Ultimate Lift kit. I'm assuming the ride quality with the AAL would be less stiff than the Dakars since I don't have much added weight in the bed plus it has the 5100's mentioned above. Two kits with good reviews on here.

I went with AAL first before the Dakars. Wish I went Dakars from the beginning. AALs are a bandaid fix/lift. Recommend day new pack if you can.

Pair the 885s with the nitrochargers. They were meant to be together unlike billies.

What was the difference in ride quality? I normally don't have anything heavier than kayaks and ladders in the back as far as.weight goes.

The leafs with AAL were a harsher ride than the Dakars unloaded
