Ok so I just recently got my 04 taco. Everything great except the suspension it is factory and has 160k on it. The rear leafs are completely flat and the shock bodys are rusted and falling apart. I would like to do an OME lift all at one time with new leaf packs. The truck was undercoated by toyota and they coated over every nut and bolt. Will this make it a pain to get these bolts off or is the coating easily broken free? They even sprayed the drive shafts and rim of the spare tire. Looks like they went nuts.

Undercoating is usually a rubberized compound that peels off fairly easily. You may have to get under there with a utility knife and slice it off of bolt heads and nuts so you can fit sockets on them, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

They sprayed your driveshaft? What the hell man. Hopefully they didn't get so much of it on there that the balance is thrown off.

How long ago was it coated? I would take it back and demand to have a clean spare tire!

Back in 2007 so a long time ago. They coated the underside of the gas tank and everything. They even coated the axles.

At about 70mph on the highway i felt a very slight vibration. Could be from a small imbalance or the old suspension.
