Never sell a good gun (ar-15) for a truck mod. Nice trucks ,yes, mod as a priority ...never.

Perhaps to buy you time and re-eevaluate , buy DT headers(or other good ones) and see how it works for you. I've been wantingto do that to mine , but will wait a yr or so.

I did an AfE pro dry/ pull 2nd filter/ pull the plastic thing(elbow?) , power seems better ,but only a bit. Best way to put it is if your truck would die w/o when you let the clutch engage , it often doesnt for me now.

You could try cutting weight. Its free just takes a little brain power. If you cant increase the velocity then reduce the mass.

Excellent point. Generally speaking, every 10 lbs you drop equates to about 1 hp. Drop 100 lbs, gain the performance equivalent of 10 hp.

Think you can trim 500 lbs from your truck? :)

I have a 3rz Pre-runner auto trans also. If you want to get plenty of ideas on performance parts just check out LC Engineering.com everything you could possibly think of for our 4bangers. I have a header, K@N cai, throttle body spacer, and a flowmaster muffler. And I have to say nothing helped really on the low end torque side, but 3.5K on up is a different story. Check out my pics if you want to see what it all looks like. Hope this helps you out a little.

My "wish/ maybe/ someday/ dont really need" list: a D.T. header , then perhaps 4.33 gears , bilstien 5100s for a less stiff ride empty , and a bit of sound dampening.

I keep thinking about making the truck lighter , but refuse to ditch the spare or pull the tailgate , so I guess im left with pulling the cup holder divider , bed pocket covers, cig lighter ,debadging (5hp right?) , .......losing 20-30 lbs on me and if i get desparate i could be the first to remove the air conditioning components .... hmmm no.

Really though , if you do ditch the spare and the tailgate (consider the cracks that some gen 2 got in the corners) and perhaps pulling the bumper and putting tha fiber glass trim piece in its place (a roll pan??) thats a reasonable 100lbs or so there.
