After a long ordeal and much effort, the broken bolt is out. The passenger side is reassembled with a new valve cover gasket and the broken wire for the RH Front Speed Sensor is repaired.

Today, Mr. Murphy was busy helping somebody else. The intake plenum has been removed and all its attachments. So far, nothing unusual has happened. All parts and fasteners removed without issues.

Tuesday, the intake plenum gasket will be at Toyota. The Driver's side valve cover should come off without too much fuss. Hopefully, I can finish this repair tomorrow.

Value to be considered, but is sounds about time some some stainless hardware, and powder coating to help resist future issues.

Nope.....too much expense for a service that is rarely needed.

I finished this task today. Driver side was an easy stroll compared to the passenger side. Disassembly took 1 1/2 hour to remove the intake plenum and all its attachments. The valve cover took another 30 minutes. Reassembly required 2 hours for driver side valve cover, intake plenum and bits, finally the throttle body/air cleaner/CAI. Many vac and ventilation hoses plus a small herd of electrical connectors. When for a drive.......

All is good!!!! No leaks, no warning lights, no odd behavior, anti-lock brakes work...... I'm stoked. :bananadance::broccoli::dancingbacon::jellydance::kona::taco:

Although....I did lose a 12 mm socket in some cavity or crevasse at the rear of the engine near the firewall. Socket stuck to the nut at the rear of the intake plenum...... So, the Tacoma required a fee of bloody knuckles, tried patience, sore ribs and sternum and a 12 mm socket.
