I've been searching here , on Google, Amazon, I find all sorts of reviews on HUs from Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, but no one ever mentions radio reception! My OEM Entune non JBL sucks hard...HORRIBLE reception on local stations right in the city. WTF Toyota?
I don't care that much about AA or XM or CDs, I DO want good radio, USB/AUX in, and preamp outs. 7" double DIN. 2016 TRDsport access btw. I've already got good speakers F/R and an amp.
ANy definitive info out there? Thanks gents...

No need for a new head unit to get better reception. Just install a signal booster. They can be had for like $20.

Your antenna gives you better/worse reception. Not your head unit.

So should I assume that all the recent head units, including the OEM, have similar FM sensitivity and it's my oem antenna that sucks? I have no whip antenna. Does that mean it's part of the shark fin on top?
I don't really want to drill holes in my body work but if it's the only way I'll get decent radio reception...

I am trying to track down poor reception myself. I not 100% but believe the OEM antenna is actually in the passenger side A pillar.

Other things I've read today say that it's up in the shark fin. Either way, it sucks. If that's my issue, of rather spend$30 than 500 and will happily install a better antenna somewhere.
