Was hoping for some input . I purchased a 2017 trd pro Tacoma and love the truck. The brights when driving at night are amazing . The regular low beams though are flat out TERRIBLE for a newer truck.

what are the brightest option I can install that is a plug and play bulb swap ??
Don’t really wanna mess with modding the headlights . I bought the car as a gift for my mom . So just want it to be safer at night . Thanks212B30F6-2FCF-4B5A-A213-FFC6D20AC200.jpg

There's a 3rd gen headlight upgrade thread. You have some options. Easiest and cheapest is to buy another pair of H9 highbeam bulbs, trim the two small tabs out of the plug base that prevent the H9 bulb from plugging into the H11 harness, and install them in your lowbeam.

The best performing H11 is Tungsram (formerly GE Lighting) Xenon +120, followed closely by the Megalight +130.

LEDs "work" but most that @crashnburn80 has tested 1- are somewhat brighter than a stock H11 but dimmer than a high "+focus" rated Performance H11, and 2- usually act like big, unfocused halogens, dropping the highest intensity zone down low below the cut off. People like the "extra light" very close to the vehicle, but this actually reduces your ability to see objects at a distance as you are driving.

Stick with the H9's. For <$25 and only 10 watts more power draw than an H11 you get nearly double the output.

Too Stroked and crashnburn80 like this.

Just bought the alpharex nova for mine. Only took about 45 minutes to install and they look amazing!
