Take delivery of new 2017 TRD Sport this week.
What should I expect to pay for extended warranty?
Who should I contact for fair price?

Any input will be appreciated !!

    1. Congrats! Welcome to the family!
    2. Too much. Tried to use my extended a couple of times and it was always a fight. 3rd party provider, you pay then get reimbursed, etc. I wouldn't do it again.
    3. Regional issues.

I paid $1,400 for 8 year/ 100,000 miles. That was probably too much but we started at $2,200! I plan to keep the truck 7 or 8 years and I put around 10 to 12 thousand miles per year on my vehicles so it made sense to get it.

I looked into this, I believe you can purchase this any time before 36k, 3 years.
My quote was less than 1k, last March.
Check the above thread, I believe it is a regional thing, and there are dealers selling the warranty at discount. The dealers (and Toyota) make nice profit from these. You do understand that whoever does your warranty work can use "used" parts? Still not sure if it is worth it for me.

I got a free one because my truck had so many issues but I heard Toyota is tightening down on that now. Have had tons of folks Private Message me and asking me how I went about it because they are having problems with their third gens too. Toyota is not as forgiving now. I think they have had so many issues they had to stop giving them out because for awhile there quite a few folks were getting them from corporate. I think if you pay for one try to get the best one which is 125k miles or 8 years platinum. I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for it.

I was told they have a 10/100K one as well. Is this true? Anyone have a link of the different packages Toyota offers? I cannot seem to find one on Toyota's website.

If they do that's a low mileage for 10 years? Average is 12k per year mileage I believe. It all depends how much you drive and then consider things change, your commute, jobs, relocations etc. Also don't forget it isn't in addition to the factory warranties so subtract those from the coverage period too.

Yeah I am sure that package would not be good for most people, but I am lucky if I get 8K a year on my truck. I work from home and have no daily commute.

Also usually it transfers once for free. So if and when you decide to private sell it could help marketability. The dealer will not likely give you any more on a trade though.

I got my extended warranty from Jerry at Midwest Toyota. Absolutely the BEST deal you will find on an actual TOYOTA extended warranty. I bought an 8 year for my 2011 Tacoma and have used it several times. And I just bought a 10 year on my wife's 2016 Sequoia. I have no association or connection to Jerry. He's just the BEST when it comes to Toyota warranties.

I grabbed the 8 year 125k zero deductible Toyota Extended Warranty for $1405, they wanted to sell me 3rd party but I refused that one.

I got the Toyota Platnium 8yr 80k iirc for $1200. Plus if I decide I don't want it. I can cancel it and get a check for the amount or apply it to my principal.

I would do this plan. Thankfully my stealership finance guy (who made a point to let me know he drove a Mercedes) was too greedy on his third party extended warranty so it was easy to decline/cancel it.

If you agree to a warranty you still have 30 to 60 days to reconsider for a complete 100% refund. During this time read all the fine print over again. If you have any doubts just cancel it. Having said this I would not risk or waste time on any warranty outside of Toyota Corp.
