The rack is in the way of the driver side LCA cam bolt. It can't be removed unless you at least loosen the rack and lift it out of the way.

I just assumed there can't be that much stupid in the world that you wouldn't mark the alignment cams and put them back how you found them. If that concept is beyond you, put the wrench down and move away from the truck.

But people have drained their transmission while trying to do a oil change, one set his kitchen on fire baking his headlights on a towel, another had his truck rip in half during the recovery of his truck, another robbed a bank for 700 bucks after spending almost 20k modding his truck, plus countless others just on TW alone. Lets not even get started with Florida or California. Would you like to retract that statement about stupidity in the world.:D

For fuck's sake! Dial it back a notch. Statements like this are just asinine!

    We all make mistakes.

That shit right there got me laughing :)

Let's just say that my optimism gets the better of me a lot, and I hope. I hope. I hope. But yeah, stupidity abounds. Even before you count Florida or Cali.

Dude, are you trying to rationalize your incorrect answer? How much the steering is off is irrelevant. The steering is off because the OP didn't put the lower arms on exactly how they were previously. The lower arm PIVOT point matters. The lower arm is connected to the spindle, if the lower arm is now a half an inch inward toward the center of the truck then the wheel/spindle/hub assembly will now be a half an inch off. You put the tie rod into the knuckle and put everything back together and notice now that the wheel is now not pointing straight. I'm not sure you know how the cam bolts work. As you turn the cam bolt it moves the entire pivot point in or out. Look at my examples below. This is a top view looking down at the tires.... Each end of each line represents the two PIVOT points AKA (VARIABLES) that CAN CHANGE the angle of the lower control arm. Again, I don't talk out of my neck about anything. If I don't know something I DON'T COMMENT! I just did cam gussets on my whip and marked the cam alignments tabs but still didn't get it EXACTLY as I had it when I put it back together. Pretty close but the steering wheel was definitely off. Because aligning the lower control arms are much harder DIY than getting the tie rods correct and because you need to set the position of the LCA FIRST I opted to go get an alignment. The guys @ the alignment shop said that I had gotten it pretty close but with steering alignment, pretty close only works in horseshoes and hand grenades as the saying goes....

The only reason I even commented on this thread is because EVERYONE, EVERY SINGLE RESPONSE on here said that the steering couldn't possibly be off with only the work that was done and that is incorrect. OP took LCA's off. The variable is the pivot point. Meaning if the OP didn't put the alignment cams back the same then yes, that could be and is likely why the steering is now off.
