    Hi All,

Need some advice. I went to fill up on Sunday, and noticed that my fuel gauge needle was stuck on "full" for quite some time. Roughly about 80 miles in and it's only moved just slightly lower. I get about 270 miles a tank.

I tried disconnecting my battery three times for about 5 minutes each time. Also opened up my gas cap to see if maybe there was some weird pressure build up or something. Still nothing.

Truck details - 2023 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB - About 10K miles on it. Thanks!

Unfortunately I have no answer - sounds like you'll have to roll-dice at the dealer for the fix.

Is this the first you noticed this? On mine,, 2018 OR, it tends to stay on the full mark for longer than you’d think but goes down normally after it comes off full. Starts to move after about 50km.

Yeah, I was wondering if there was anything I could do in the meantime - Any fuses to check, electrical wiring, some reset button I don't know about?

I honestly never noticed it until the morning after I filled up. What's weird is after I unplugged my battery, the fuel gauge went to full and my MPG went from 270 to 380 all of a sudden....

Even my '13 Taco and '14 RAV will stay on full a disproportionate amount of miles compared to their movement afterwards. Make sure you're not seeing same.

IE, when you hit 1/2, does a fill up hold the right amount for 1/2? Same at 1/4.

Because if they do, the time on F doesn't much matter does it?

And your Miles per tank is just guesswork. Calculate real MPG to know what's happening in that area.

My 23 DCSB usually sets at 380-385 on a full tank. I does take a while to start moving, though

When you disconnect the battery stuff “resets”. I got identical results when I replace my battery last year. DTE improved by 100km.

Maybe need some gas additive to thin things out and shake it loose. Try some hard stops or side-to-side quick turns to slosh fuel, might break it loose.

Great idea, I’ll fill up at a 1/2 tank and see how much I fill up to. When I got home last night I did see the needle begin to move lower. It stays at full for a freakishly long time…

Thanks for all the feedback, I’ll update when I get more miles on the truck!
