need help asap

    i tighttend the wheel stud on the front of my 2006 tacoma base and broke the bolt. Need help changing asap thanks.

    Also had a metal valve cap and that broke off need help asap thanks the stem broke half way with the tire.

    Removed coal filter, Also installed AFE air filter. Roof rack with custom diamond plate air diverter.

    Hammer the broken stud out and get a new stud to replace it

    Remove stud and replace. The valve stem will have to go to a tire shop.

    In order to replace the wheel stud you will have to remove the wheel, then the brake caliper and bracket, and finally the rotor. After that you can drive out the old stud with a hammer. When installing the new stud you have to be careful. I usually use a new wheel nut to slightly pull in the stud, then reassemble everything and use a torque wrench to tighten it the rest of the way.     Replacing stud is simple and cost about $1 at napa. Make sure not to over torque next time. This use to happen frequently in old 4runner I once owned.

    can the stem be replaced it self? and not replace the whole vlave? I dont want to have to get a new tps sensor get it collaborated.



    Also the guy at the part store said gotta remove the center cap and the axel nut is this true in order to get to the stud out?

    Also anyone have pics for reference or try relate to make it easier also what the torq specs for the lug nuts and what a good cheap one or recommend?

    If you have tpms sensors, your gonna have to replace the whole sensor. The threads and the sensor are all 1 piece

    Like Bill and doording said, you just need to think of it as a brake job. Once you're to the point you have the rotor off and in hand, drive the broken stud out with a shop hammer. Drive the new one in from the backside, or like mentioned, you can use a nut to pull it tight.

    with the OP's hulk strength..he should be able to push the busted stud out with his thumb ;)

    me..i use a press. in and out.

    how does one go about breaking the valve stem?

    When I had to do this, I used one of the nuts that mounts the hood to its hinge. Source locally!

    My friend gonna change out the valve with the new one and can i run around with it not being programmed yet. His friend can program it but wont be back for a few weeks. If he cant do it than I can take it back to toyota to progam it later I dont wanna be running around with the spare for a long time.

    This is with the rotor off. Just get a punch, press or bolt and hammer out the broken stud

    So there no center nut to take of to get the rotor off? Once i take the caliper fully off ? I just gotta remove the the loner bolt on the caliper or all 4 goota remove all 4?
