    Guys i replaced the drivers side bearing in the front dif and am putting it back together i am at the point that i am installing the new seal and there is a spring (like a pen spring but round ) where does that go??i think it goes on the inside of the new seal can someone conferm this for mw.

    does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
    Usually seals have a spring on the inside lip to help seal, never taken that specific seal.

    Thanks for reply, it shot out when the seal came out and couldn't see where it came from. There looked like a groove on the inside of the new seal that it would fit in but wasn't sure. Kinda surprised a spring doesn't come with new seal.

    I've never done seals on the Taco but seals for my old FJ60 came with springs. I'd make sure your new seals weren't supposed to have the springs, did you get a left and right set that you can compare?

    Yep, the spring is normally there to add a bit of pressure to keep the lip of the seal against its sealing surface. A lot of those types of seals have the springs in them.
    Be careful when reinstaling the spring that you do not damage the seal lip.
