I have a 2001 Tacoma 2wd. It has a 3in leveling kit on the front and stock in the back. I keep replacing upper and lower ball joints. Is the leveling kit causing the problem. Or how do I fix the issue?
    Thanks

Without seeing your front end setup it's hard to say. I had the OEM upper ball joints for 170k and lower ball joints for 175k before replacing them.

What is happening to the ball joints that requires you to replace them? are they snapping? Is there excessive wear from lack of lubrication?

OP, if it looks like this, it's definitely caused by the spacer lift.

I've also heard about ball joints shipping dry from the factory, but I don't think that is the issue here.

I’ve had the uppers on both sides snap in half. I had 33s on the truck at the time and since I put a new front end under it and put smaller tires back on I haven’t had a problem except one lower that was not replaced for some reason when I got it fixed but, that’s being replaced. So I’m guessing taking the spacer off will solve everything?

I was told that if I change the upper control arms it would fix it, but which ones do I get if that’s the case?
