Disclaimer: The tent cot is a good alternative to the RTT, but there should be no illusions that it has the same quality of a good RTT, either. It's great for what I do and I really enjoy using it, but I can also see where it might have some issues arise in the future. That said, I think I paid a little over $200 for it and it's working very nicely. I think I may end up with a camper shell, though. As much as I find myself camping under the stars in the middle of nowhere, I quite often also find myself sleeping at rest stops on long drives.

Also, I realize this isn't technically a bed tent, but I felt it was an option that some may find interesting.

Bought the rightline about a month ago, I've used it twice so far and love it, the most recent I was in a 30min down pour with no signs of leaking. I got a 6' bed with a tool box and it fits just fine, and with the tailgate down there's still plenty of room for two people. The tool box actually made a good spot for the little one to put her sleeping bag on as well.

Having a tough time deciding myself as to whether I should get something for the bed, ground, or a full blown camper.

Especially for the cost; was just at Dick's Sporting and they have full blown Hilton hotels for the cost of a damn bed tent on Autoanything...

I doubt you're talking about a pop up camper? The ones I've been looking at I've been ranging from 5k-20k.

Ahhhh yeah we're on two different pages. You're talking trailers, I'm talking 12 person tent "lodges" hahah. I agree, a pop-up is pretty solid.

I'd settle for a 12 person as well, I'm not opposed to ground camping at all. I saw one for about $200 made by ozark trail that looked pretty nice. long term though, I think I'd like a trailer. Nothing extravagant, but good for summer and winter when it'd be more comfortable with Ac or heat.

Yeah I hear you. I couldn't justify it just yet. Gotta get out of my apartment before I hoard things.

What are they going for? Everyone I clicked is sold out and didn't have a price.

I have a pop up ozark 6 person tent and it's great. Takes only a couple minutes to set up and tons of space if you have a family. Obviously you're on the ground but it's big enough to set up a queen size air mattress + couple chairs or pack n play for a little one.

I hoard things too, got over 10k in rods and reels. I coulda put a nice down payment on my truck If I sold it all. The raise I just got justified the truck, don't know how I can justify a camper.

Napier Sportz III here! Love this thing. Bought it from a member here, it works great! I'll never camp on the ground again. Getting to old for that. :)

Is that the factory tonneau folded up that I'm seeing inside there.

Only thing I can see about the little ones is you could pull them on trails and get them in tighter areas. I may get one of them in my next life when I'm young again.

Yep. A little tight but it does work. Real handy as a shelf to set stuff on.

Just be careful, it also hurts like heck when you bash your knee into it in when shifting around. Trust me on that.

Thanks, that's what I've been wondering about. If there was a bed tent that could be used with the tonneau. I like the security of being able to lock up all the gear while traveling.
