Reviving an old thread. You guys have been running various 885/886/887/888 coils on 5100s for a while now. What do we recommend? Why does Headstrong still strongly recommend against using 886 with 5100? I have 5100s in the mail and I'm deciding on which coils. I'd prefer to get my lift from the coils and not the clips, as I have lowered cars before and always relied on the spring to do it.

My truck is used for work so I still need a good ride. I am not down with overly stiff when there are better options. THanks!

I run 886 on OME 9000 Nitrocharger and they are not stiff at all. Factory front bumper. It’s been about 3000 miles since I lifted it (it’s a ‘21 with about 6K on it now).
I’m running 305/60R18 Toyo AT3 on FN wheels.
This combo is about 31.5 in diameter, weighs about 2lbs more than the factory set and is dead set on the odometer.

How much lift did you get out of the 886?

The front is 3.25” higher with Nitrocharger 9000 and 886 coils; the rear is 5” higher with a complete Deaver replacement spring (400-600lbs constant)

Front CV angles are fine, had to buy a one-piece driveshaft - thick wall 3/4 ton joints - because of the angle. Carrier drop did not work

How long have you had this lift? How is it holding up? Any issues so far? And what size are your tires? I wanna upgrade my 887s due to sag and squishy feeling.

I had it on for about a year, drove really good. No problems with them. I had 285 75 16. I upgraded to coil overs and new leaf springs and went with 315 75 16s... The 5100s are just as good as my coil overs.
