Hi there, looking for help and visuals on how to clean my 01 Tacoma's throttle body. My truck is throwing the P0120 code on the OBDII sensor.

I did find information and a write up at this link on the Tacomaworld forum but the images, which would be quite helpful here, no longer load there.

Does anybody know where I can find a writeup with some images or further information?

Also I'd like to know if instead of seafoam could I use carb cleaner or QD Electronic Contact cleaner to clean my throttle body, I have both or is seafoam best practice.

Well seafoam, imo, is snake oil. It might help some that are extremely dirty, but if it's fairly clean inside I wouldn't. I tried it and didn't do a fanned thing. To clean the throttle body though after you take it out, use throttle body cleaner. I'm not sure but I think carb cleaner is too strong for throttle bodies.

And the throttle body is really quite easy to take out. There's four bolts. Along with a few hoses going to the iac. And of course the throttle cables. And the intake hoses. That's pretty much it it! Just get a new gasket too though.

Thanks I'll try to find some throttle body cleaner. Not sure they sell it at my local walmart but we have other shops here. When you refer to gasket which one are you referring to and where do I buy it?

the gasket between the throttle body and intake plenum:
    https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1375343,parttype,6474

And might as well clean out the iac too. Unless she's running good then maybe not worry about that. But if you sometimes have any stumbly hot starts or any rough idling, it will help as well to clean this. Be very careful with that. It's sensitive. I used maf cleaner on mine. If you want to be extra cautious, use a q tip and a toothpick to clean it out without resorting to spraying cleanerinsidee it and 'possibly' screwing it up, from what I've heard. I sprayed it all in there myself. Here's the gasket for it:
    https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1375343,parttype,11201

You can find these at other places such as Amazon or eBay cheaper with free shipping. Or your local auto store but will be more pricey. It's a gasket. Not much to it. If you're anal you could get a name brand or even go oem.

I don't know of any write-up with pics atm. But do some searching and I'm sure there's one out there somewheres. Maybe look at other forums such as ttora.

Using some outside resources in addition to this forum I was able to clean the throttle body and MAF sensor with ease. So far OBDII is not throwing any more codes. The MAF sensor was noticeably dirty on my truck, as you can see. The throttle body didn't seem that bad. I cleaned the respective components with MAF cleaner and Throttle body cleaner. Truck seems to be now running smoother with less hesitation and its not throwing the P0120 code anymore so far.
