I have a 2017 TRD off road used for camping and road trips. Looking at getting a tri-fold cover either hard or soft. The primary reason is so I can put hunting, camping, luggage, etc in my bed during road trips. I do a ton of traveling from Texas to Louisiana to Colorado through heavy storms. Was thinking about either the Gator Hybrid or SFX tri-fold. Recently I found out about rugged country hard tri-folds and that looks like a winner but didn't find much on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also looking for covers that I can take on and off quickly with no drilling, etc to the bed.

I recently purchased the Tiger Tonneau Soft Trifold cover for $229 from Amazon. I put my recovery stuff and emergency gear in a Plano box under the tonneau. I haven't had it through any hard rain yet, but I did run it through the wash. A little bit of water got into the bed but obviously nothing got into the Plano bin. It's really easy to install and easy to remove. Also, it requires no drilling and connects to the rail system that comes with the truck.

I have a cheap Tyger soft rollup. Sounds like your needs are similar to mine. What I really like about the rollup vs trifold is that when it’s rolled up ... which takes 30 seconds ... it allows full access to the bed, and full view through the rear window (well, maybe about 3” blocked, and even that can be squished) and can be driven at any speed with it strapped in the rolled up mode. Takes 30 seconds to close up and is adequately weatherproof. And it’s cheap, less than $200. Quality seems fine, looks very clean, and easy to install. Lots of threads on Tyger here ... generally happy owners.

A bit pricey but the Undercover Flex is a solid tonneau.

Thanks, everyone for your input. I decided to go with Rugged country. It's supposed to come in tomorrow. I'll take some pictures and give a little review once it comes in.

I also bought the tyger 3 fold off Amazon. Easy to install and very light when storing it.
Seems to be of durable quality and can't beat the price!
