    Hello all,

I bought a 2019 Tacoma back in August that came with a spacer lift and I've had enough. I have finally narrowed down my choices (I think) between:

Fox 2.5 DSC (front and rear)
    All pro leaf's (expedition springs)
Timbren bump stops & U-Bolt Flip
    Extended rear brake lines
    Already have SPC UCA's Installed

    or

    Dobinsons MRA (front and rear)
    Dobinsons C59-314 coils
    Dobinsons 111R leafs
    Already have SPC UCA's Installed

    Truck details:

    - Double Cab Long Bed
    - 285/70R17 K02's (load range C)
    - Rock Sliders
    - Bed rack
    - Rooftop Tent (not always on truck)
    - Full Skid plates (steel)

    Truck use:

M-F commuter with 70-100 miles of unloaded daily driving on mostly highways. Weekend duty consists of accessing dispersed camping spots via rough forest service roads and light/medium trails 2-3 weekends a month. Usually carry 600-800 lbs. including weight of RTT and rack.

    Truck Goals:

    - Smoothest ride possible for daily driving (unloaded)
    - Ability to adjust suspension when fully loaded for camping trips
    - Good leaf springs that wont flatten out and constantly hit bump stops with ease

I can get the fox setup (with All Pro UCA's) for $4,200 shipped and then sell the All Pro UCA's for 500ish, so i'd be around $3,700 with that setup. The Dobinsons setup would be about $2,700 shipped.

I believe the Fox shocks have a larger body and piston compared to the Dobinson's, but the Dobinsons have high speed compression, low speed compression, and rebound adjustments. The Fox DSC's only have high speed and low speed compression adjustment.

Just looking for feedback from anyone who has had experience with both Dobinsons and Fox. I realize that's probably unlikely but you never know.

Yes, I have read extensively through the forums on basically every thread I could find already. It seems like I cant go wrong either way but I'm debating if its worth it to spend $1,000 more for the fox setup with less adjustment than the Dobinsons.

Side note: I drove a 3rd gen double cab long bed with King 2.5's w/adjusters on the softest settings and I felt like the ride was too firm. The truck was on 20'' wheels and 33's which I believe were load range E and I don't know what the rear leaf spring setup was.

I’m arriving at the same point in my search, with very similar setup and objectives. What did you end up going with?

My MRA are in the works now, very excited. My whole reason for going with them is what you get for the price point. Also didn’t see any complaint on them

You got any pics of how you mounted and what settings you’ve found to be good for like gravel/washboard/ highway driving?

Bumping this thread. Anyone else have input? How are the 56mm(~2.25") Dobisons holding up compared to the 2.5"shocks from the other companies (fox, king, radflo, etc)?

I currently have a set of 2.5" IFP King coilovers and would like to go to a resivoir setup and possibly an adjuster of some kind. The Dobison pricing is sure attractive.

Dobinson MRA's are great. I've had them for about 2 years, the adjustability is really nice you can easily change it depending on the load. They have held up well so far. If you go for them, I would recommend getting them from Exit Offroad, the guy who runs that place is top notch.

If anyone needs further help making a choice, I have the Fox 2.5 Performance Elite shocks front and rear. They work well, but if I were doing it again or giving advice to someone like OP, I’d say go Dobinsons. Tons of guys in our local group run them and have nothing but good things to say. For the value and performance I don’t know how you beat them right now.

For the Dobinson owners, do you have someone you can send those shocks to for service? Or do they need to get sent into Dobinson directly?
