Hey guys looking at getting this package for my 2007 DCLB next month. I was wondering if they look like pretty good subs and an amp for the price listed. Also, there is the same package with a 750 watt amp for about $100 more would that be a better deal or too much power for the two 10' subs? Let me know what ya think or if you have any other ideas/suggestions. The link is listed below.

    Thanks

They are different subs with each package. One are the Comp 10's, the other is the CVT 10's.

Power of the amp on both packages suits the subs.

They will probably be sufficient for adding bass to the truck. There is better equipment out there, and there is worse.

They are pretty common subs, see if some local shops have them you can go look at.

i have that same headunit. i bought it back in july for 350 from crutchfield. i absolutely love it. one of the many good things about ordering it from crutchfield is that they send you everything you need to install it (the dash kit and wiring harness) plus you get the install directions and full support from them.

awesome info man thanks for the feedback. So the one off amazon won't come with everything I need to wire and install it (trim piece that surrounds it too)?? Also, did you have your subs installed at the same time or the in dash first because I'm having subs installed next month... Sorry for all the questions and again thanks for the help

im almost certain that it will not include everything that you need. i currently dont have any subs. i received my 4 polk db 6.5's from crutchfield today and going to install them this weekend and see if i can go without a sub or not.

the trim ring that it is talking about is just a small black piece that goes around the radio so. ill try to dig up a pic of mine and show you

here it is. notice the black trim piece that is around the radio itself? that is what they are saying is included.

also, the wiring harness they include is different than the one you get from crutchfield. crutchfield will send you a wiring harness that is specific to YOUR vehicle so you dont have to splice into your dash wires like you would with the one thats included with the amazon one.

a lot of great info here thanks for the help. Still a bit up in the air wondering if someone has ordered the same package from amazon?? Also, once I get my in dash should I wait to have it installed with the subs or should I just do it on my own??

I would suggest doing it on your own. The toyota dash is VERY easy to take apart. If you want to save yourself the trouble, run a remote wire and a set of RCAs to where the sub will be when you install the deck. Then you will not need to pull your dash apart again when you install the subs. You will only need to run the power cable to the battery. Tacotunes has some good vids for installing subs. People on this site should be able to help if you get stuck. Do you have much experience with wiring?

appreciate the advice and no I don't have much experience with wiring. I have taken out my stock radio before and installed the iPod adaptor/aux cord. I have a few buddies who have wired their subs and a friend who lives down the road drives a DCLB just like mine with the same package I'm installing. Hopefully we can figure it all out. Thanks again for the tips every bit of info is greatly appreciated

    X2

I ran my video outs(to hook up monitors for the back seat),pac steering wheel control adaptor, RCA's for the front and rear doors as well as the subs and rear view camera wiring. This way it is easier to add the rest of the "goodies" as I have time and cash to expand my system.
The set up on Amazon dose not come with the double din adaptor for your taco or the wiring harness adaptor.Harnes is well worth the 10.00 can do all your soldering or crimping out of the vehicle. Also can be changed back to stock if you need to.

What subs are your friends running down the street? Are they running the same set up? If so and it sounds good then go with it. I have been battling with which subs to add my self trying not to go with the JL 10w1v2. Was going to to a alpine Type S 10 in a ported box but 2 tens will be louder, and I do want louder deeper bass but can't afford the 13TW5 that I would like to get. There is not much room back there for full size subs and even less air space. I think those supercrew/eBay/hifonics boxes are not optimum air space for those subs, but I have never heard them so not sure if what they do have is enough to make it sound good. I know JL is coming out with a new 10 and a 12 TW3 slim line and I might wait to get those or just save up and get the TW5. But check out other DC's and see if you want more or less and you can go from there.

Sounds like a good plan. And you know how it sounds so wont be spending tons of money to find out you dont like the way it sounds.
