I keep a battery tender on my battery whenever it is at the house, always starts right up and my alternate cars battery is five years old with no issues, knock on wood! Not a battery charger, must be a "maintainer". Maintainer will not over charge! Good luck.

I think you need a Battery Tray from a 2nd Gen V6 with Tow Package to fit the 27F correctly, otherwise the battery will overhang the tray.

The Northstar 24F that guys talk about on this Forum all the time has quite a bit more CCA

Just keep it idling when you're using power. That's what the electrical system is designed to do.

Starter batteries are made to dump lots of power fast. Turn the engine over. They are not made to sit and discharge. Deep cycle batteries are... but they are not made to start an engine so don't think that's the fix.

I wish you luck trying to convince the dealership you need a bigger battery (and bigger tray) because Toyota has a design flaw.

In the firearms world, this would be called an operator induced malfunction.

    SB o_O :D

P.S. If you drew the battery down to the point it was dead, you probably do need a new battery.

Did they load test it, or just check voltage? My bother-in-laws 16 tundra 9000 miles had a one cell bad, dealer replaced His read 12.9 volts when they checked it after he got there. Then he said aren't you going to load test it? They did and after test 8.3 volts wouldn't start.
