    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
There are many good breeds and breed mixes that would make a good hunting/companion/co-pilot.......

Believe it or not, a standard poodle is a hunting dog. Created in Germany as a waterfowl dog. High intelligence, non-shed, robust, energetic.....

Many of the larger Terriers are hunters, Airedale, Welsh, Giant Schnauzer........

My point, open your mind to other breeds. You may be able to find your next buddy in a place you don't expect.

OP I'll second what @Gunshot-6A said about trying to find a rescue. There are plenty of full blooded rescue organizations out there. Both by GSP and Catahoula were rescues and they are the best dogs I've ever had. It feels pretty good to give an animal a second chance.

Gotta agree with some here, a rescue Catahoula is an amazing choice. My boy is about 7 years old (have had him just over 6 years). Rescued out of Cedartown where he was an owner-surrender. He got picked up by the county, they called the owner and told him it was $25 to get him back. He said he'd be on his way and never showed. Best $25 someone never spent. Tough as nails dog too. Found out he has bird shot in his legs so I'm guessing he got into stuff that someone didn't want him in. You can tell he's thankful to be where he's at now. Don't know how they'd be as a bird dog as they have instinctive baying traits, but I'll assure you that a catahoula will give you 110% of themselves into EVERYTHING they do.

Made it official today! Let me introduce you all to my new hunting buddy! He is a Chocolate Lab. He is almost five weeks old, we put a deposit down today and will pick him up when he is seven weeks. I have already named him Tomikazu in honor of my Japanese hunting buddy who named his German Shorthair after me. We will call him Tomi (pronounced Tō-mē) for short.

This thread has me thinking that after the Holidays we should have a "Georgia Taco-Dog Meet and Greet". Everyone bring their buddies and we meet at a park somewhere in the middle of the state and grill, talk trash and introduce our best friends.

Might as well post mine in her Halloween costume.

Her mother wanted her to be a princess for Halloween...on all other days, she chases/bites anything that moves and destroys the house....

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

OP picked up a new lab named Tomi. Never had a spaniel before, that one most certainly is game for ADV.

Yeah buddy, my dog looks wild as hell. He still gives me the creeps occasionally when he peers at me thru the fire in the dark. Something about have one Glass Eye is unsettling! Looks like a hell spawn wolf from Mordor!

He seems to think Tomi (Tō-mē) is instructions and not his name!
