    hey fellow tacoma owners.

So i just recently gave my 99 tacoma a tune up. I changed the wires, spark plugs, and i even changed out my fuel injectors. It drove amazing the first few months than it started sputtering as if it was losing power. i notice when it dead that the RPM's went higher as if it was trying too compensate for the lost power. It finally just stopped completely. I have it parked, i hoped it was the battery so i bought one. Nope it just cranks and ends up killing. So i just checked it again and the batteries dead. Not really sure what it is, willing to hear anybody cuz i don't want to be just throwing parts at it. I have 185,000 miles on that baby and i want her to last forever...

    thanks for the help

If it is draining your battery there must be some sort of electrical short or malfunction. This could also be causing the computer to mess up your "tuning parameters" . I'm no expert but it sounds electrical.

Start with the fuses. It's always a easy place to start and from there start testing different circuits. Possibly alternator? Sounds like some cylinders might not be firing at all.

Do ALL of the lights work, when you install a charged battery?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Check the ground wires are clean and tight. Look for pinched or burned wiring. Does the truck have a trailer hitch? Check the spark plugs are tight.
