My Toyota is starting to rust around the bottom of the seats probably from where I've cleaned it so many times over the years and got the metal part at the bottom of the seats wet, its started to run over on to the carpet and now I have big orange stains. I've tried some rust remover it helped a little bit but nothing has done the trick to completely remove the stains.

Try using Purple Power in a spray bottle. Spray a little on, let it sit for about 5 minutes, blot/rinse it out usinf clean water and a shop vac or carpet extractor. Purple Power disolves iron, and is made for the auto detailing industry. Don't get concerned when it begins to turn purple after you spray it in the carpet. That's the sign that it's doing it's job. In my experience, it should not stain the carpet, but you should do a test first in a hidden area just to make sure.

    Stock for now.. maybe

I used to steam clean carpets for a living. It was a local business and we would be able to get that stuff out no problem. Sometimes it took longer just because the water we introduced would flake up more rust particles and dirt. I would personally look for a local company not a 'Stanley steamer'... they both have the correct products but the locally owned company might spend the extra time to do it right but who knows. I say this because if you clean it and don't evacuate the water properly/ enough the rust will show through again. It might start showing up again either way. All the carpet cleaning companies have a 'rust remover' and it works well. It will almost disappear right away depending on how long the rust has been there. A good company will apply product then extract it with clean hot water but again it might take several applications over time depending on the volume of rust. Carpet is kind of like a candle... it might act as a wick and bring rust back up to surface over time

Try Whink instant spot remover. Really good stuff. Made in my hometown of Eldora, Iowa.
