I have a '96 Toyota Tacoma SR5. I recently bought OME Heavy duty leaf springs, shocks and coil springs. After I installed the leaf springs, I wasn't able to place the drive shaft to the rear diff. I currently have the bed off the truck, though I don't know if that makes a difference. What should I do? Do I need to remove a leaf? Do I need axle shims? And also I am using stock shackles

96 as I recall requires shorter leaf springs as the early 1st gen mounts were closer together then the later 1st gen. Did you get the proper ones? Reason I ask is looking at the bumpstop on the frame, it looks like the axle is pushed back a few inches. Either that or the leaf springs are on backwards.

(I have managed to put regular leafs on a 96, while they physically fit, they wont behave as intended as the shackle angle is terrible)
