Hey I just took my 4 cylinder in the woods and it did good... Just about out of the wood I think my clutch went on me.. My truck isn't getting engaged into gear it seems, I would go to put my truck in 1st gear 4x4 and go to take my foot off my clutch and my truck wouldn't excellerate then I tried 2x4 and the same problem with all gears...

LONG STORY SHORT: I can put my Tacoma in gear, take my foot off the clutch and my truck wont even stall.

I think its my clutch and it wont stall when i take my foot off because my trucks not being placed in a gear.

Need all the help I can get!

Did you burn the clutch up?

Another possibility is that the transfer case is stuck in neutral.

If you're sure your transfer case is not stuck in neutral, it sounds like you toasted your clutch. Were you slipping it a lot when you were playing in the woods?

What year is the truck?? How many miles on it?? You would see a ton of smoke coming out the bell housing before completley burning out the clutch. Were you in 4LO when wheeling?

Your not nessesarily gonna see smoke. If he was in the mud, and it was pretty wet, you can burn the clutch and not even know it.....

Same scenario happened with me once when I was young and dumb and had a Jeep. Never saw smoke or anything. New clutch was it.
