I should probably start by saying I washed the truck 2 days ago (not that I'm purposely spraying water through the grill and the hood was closed). Went to drive it yesterday and noticed the high beam indicator on the dash was on when I got in. Started it up, still on. Checked to see if the stalk was left in the wrong position and tried all other positions, still on. Nothing would turn it off. And I have no low or high beams. I have a projector retrofit and Morimoto low/high beam HID kit from The Retrofit Source. The high beam works by moving the cut off shield up to allow more light to pass through the projector. When you flick the high beams on and off you can hear clicking under the hood, not sure if it's a relay or the shields moving up and down in the projector. I checked the fuses under hood for low/high/left/right headlights and they're all fine. I cleaned the inline fuse holder and replaced the fuse going to the HID kit and still nothing. If I disconnect the hid kit the indicator on the dash turns off unless I turn the lights to the on position then it comes on even though the lights don't work. Help!

I had this happen on my Gen 1 truck a couple of years ago, and it turned out to be some simple combination of switches or something set wrong -- mystifying at first, and a trivial fix in the end as I recall. So trivial I've forgotten what I did. Lemme think...

In the meantime, here are a few other folks that had the same symptoms:
