Sounds logical, I'm surprised nobody mentioned that yet. Nice catch.

That truck bed looks normal to me. Maybe add some more Durabond 45 and green paint? The rusty razor blades can come out though.

Similar situation happened to a friend of mine and his Tacoma. He helped and elderly neighbor clean out garage and didn't notice a can of paint in a box when he threw it in the bed of the truck. Dam bed had sky blue paint everywhere. He just wiped it out the best he could and used flat black rattle-can painting the entire bed.

So here's a little update, been busy with work. Found this stuff...image.jpg
Let's it sit for a few minutes...

Looked good, so I let it sit for an hour. Came back and....

Left a white haze. I rubbed a section of it with goo gone (not pictured) and it seem to do the trick. Will see in a couple hours how the goo goned portion looks like.

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
If it is latex paint, rubbing alcohol will take it off.
