I recently bought an 06 and I'm trying to go through everything that the PO previously did to the truck. At this point I'm trying to figure out the front lift. I measured ride height and after some reading on TW, it looks like I'm sitting at around a 4" lift in the front but I don't know if this some sort of cheapo kit or just some random parts. See pics below:

My assumption is that this just stock suspension with a huge coil spacer to provide lift, and a Pro Comp diff drop down below? If that is a diff drop, aren't there diff drops that are just a small bracket that mounts to the original diff mounts? Is there a benefit with this type of diff drop?

I come from the solid axle world. IFS lifts are new to me.

Pro comp drop bracket lift. No idea how much lift it should provide but yes shitty spacers.. rear is probably a block under the leaf pack

    Thanks for the info.

Yep, rear lift is some shitty springs over some shitty blocks :/

Oh and that is not just a diff drop up front but the lower frame is cut to mount that bracket so the diff and other things are lowered to maintain CV angles. You can def refresh that lift with nice coil overs, a quality leaf pack and new rear shocks, you would have a great driving truck. But if it drives nice now and it is meant to be a daily street rig just enjoy it as is :)

Unfortunately, it's a 4" pro comp drop bracket lift. Expensive to install and expensive to remove due to the removal of the crossmember with no added ground clearance vs. stock.

I'll definitely look into refreshing it. It has a pretty harsh ride and the articulation is horrible as you could imagine haha.
    Thanks again for the info!

Very unfortunate. Do you happen to know if that bracket causes issues with aftermarket skid plates? I can't seem to find any info online about that.

The articulation will be horrible forever, it's a Tacoma! But to be fair, you will have better articulation if you run a nice coil over that doesn't provide any further lift than a guy on a 3 inch coil over lift that has almost no down travel.

I don't think I have seen any aftermarket front skids geared towards DB lifts, has to be custom fab. If you are referring to belly skids, kinda pointless if you have little clearance or protection with the exposed DB crossmember.
