    Hey Gents...

Long story short. Changing my plugs.. slipped on stool and my hand was under that sensors wire. I unseated one of the wires on the sensor circled in yellow. Truck miss fires randomly when starting.. looked around for schematics but couldn’t find anything. Anyone know what sensor that is? Thanks for helping my dumbass

Take it out. Part # should be there.
By the look it resembles CPS, but I think CPS is a bit lower

Find that part, so you can find the terminal you yanked.

So here is what happens if you mess up the wiring going into the camshaft position sensor... its $900 from the dealer because they don't sell the small 3 pin connector by itself... its apart of a bigger wiring harness. Shocker.

Dorman Part # 645-744 is the same 3 pin connector. It was $30. Just splice and solder. All codes went away and it starts right up.

    Thanks for help

Dealer quoted me $800 for a new purge valve on my '15 Camry. I asked the service writer to give me a minute, and after a quick google search I had one ordered (new, mind you) for $28 bucks shipped before I left their parking lot.

If they had quoted me $400 I'd have likely opened my wallet without much thought, but when the dealer step up to the plate, it seems the vast majority couldn't give a fuck about anything but a home run.

At the end of the day, I've spent my life in retail, and it IS their business, but I for one do my very best to steer clear, to include forgoing the ToyotaCare. A couple free oil changes and some popcorn just ain't worth the possible consequences of putting my vehicles in the hands of a dealer, any dealer.

C'mon a dealer tech wouldn't have broken that wire changing out plugs. He may install the plugs with an impact to beat book time, but collateral damage is usually minimal.

Had my mustang in to replace two fogged headlights under warranty a few years back. Upon entering the vehicle, and before my very eyes, the mechanic jumped into it slamming the driver's door into the bright yellow concrete post in front of the service department. 72 hrs in their body shop before I had it back.

I guess that would actually fall into 'minimal' but for some reason it didn't feel like it at the time. lol

Usually a crumpled door isn't repairable, because of the guard beam welded/bonded inside.

The car wasn't T-boned, simply door dinged by an idiot.

No, he drove the door into the post alright, but it was before he even had the key in the ignition.
