My truck randomly started making a grinding noise coming from the front drivers side that I have had zero luck diagnosing.

I've attached a link to a video of the noise being referenced, and any insight or ideas on what it could be would be appreciated.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/V3tAvei7ff0?feature=share

For reference, here is what I have assessed/tested already:

1.) Brake dust shields - all straight with no signs of grinding/wear.

2.) Skid plate/Bull Bar - removed both and the noise still persisted

3.) Wheel bearings - Had them inspected, no issue or excess wear

4.) I put the truck on jack stands and performed the same tests (changing gears, accelerating, braking, steering) and no grinding noise could be replicated, but as soon as I put it down on the ground the grinding continued immediately.

It's driving me insane, so I'm open to any and all possibilities - thanks!!!

    A couple suggestions.

If you suspect it to be coming from below, drive on something elevated like in a parking structure, one guy driving, one guy standing in a spot he can see underneath with a flashlight.

If you think you’ll find it from above, USE CAUTION ON THIS ONE. Drive very slowly near someone standing on a ladder with the hood open.

Sounds like a heat shield vibrating to me.
