After I replaced my stock leafs for the All-Pro Expedition leafs, I started getting this noise. I can't seem to pinpoint where it's coming from. I lubricated both leafs and the bushings but the noise hasn't gone away.

The strange thing is that, it mainly happens when I accelerate hard from a dead stop or go up and down on curbs. There's no noise when I go over speed bumps.

Took the video down because the noise went away.

Did you ever figure this out? I tried playing the video but it had an error. I installed the All Pro expedition springs and ended up having to install a carrier bearing drop kit and angled shims because they threw off my driveline angles.

The noise went away a few days after I sprayed it down with some silicone lubricant. I guess the lubricant just needed time to do it's job. I don't know if this made any difference but I also added a few hundred pounds to my bed for a couple days thinking that would help break in the leaf springs since they are so stiff.

Sounds like you have a different issue. Are you getting any noise or vibrations when you accelerate from a dead stop?

Can you describe the sound that your springs made? I installed my All Pro Expedition springs back in October 2021 and after a few months they developed a strange noise. I would describe it as a clacking sound. The best I can imagine is that the plastic pads are sticking to the leaf surface and making a cracking sound when they release. If I bounce on the bed or slightly lift up the rear bumper they make the sound. I've only had these springs on road so far. I installed greasable bushings and I greased them a few times, so it's def not them. A mechanic told me I just need to take it offroad to put them through their full flex range to break them in the rest of the way for it to go away.

My last add-a-leaf addition to my stock springs made a metal-on-metal squeaking noise where there weren't pads, which this is not.

I'm afraid that adding lubricant will attract dirt and grime and maybe I just need to clean them out good? How did your silicone trick work over these last couple years @EDC_Tacoma?

I saw A+P came out with these pads. I don't know if they're improvements or the same.

I've had a few issues with my allpro expo springs. They were bought used, so my conclusion is that the previous owner had them overloaded and bent them a little out of spec. The military wrap section of the spring actually sits against the frame, so it makes a squeak at every acceleration/bump/curb nearly. The top spring also slaps the little metal guide/holder that keeps the leafs from moving side to side. A small piece of rubber fixed that.

As of today, the noise has gone away. It does attract some dirt and grime so I pressure wash them when needed. After I pressure wash it, I let it dry then spray them down with Blaster silicone spray. It has gotten better overtime though. Maybe because they've been broken in more.

While ago when I took it to do an alignment, the mechanic told me that it's normal with some of these heavy duty leaf packs and his truck makes more noise than mine.

Just want to note that I don't do any offroading on rough terrain that requires a lot of articulation. Only been on dirt roads but I do keep 100+ lbs of tools and gear in my truck bed all the time.

Is it a squeeking noise or more like a clunk? my dakars squeel like pigs and Im looking into different options. How do you like these springs so far in terms of ride/performance?

I pressure wash and spray some lubricant on my springs regularly and it seems to help for a while but the squeeking always comes back in a few weeks

Mine was more of a cracking noise. These springs are really stiff so I feel every small speed bump.

Spraying them down once in while to reduce the noise doesn't really bother me as long as they're durable since I got them to replace the OEM that had a recall on them.

Wasn’t the recall just to replace the friction pads to reduce noise?

From what I remember, the recall was regarding defective springs that could break and puncture surrounding components such as the fuel tank.

Toyota replaces them for free but they won't do it if you have a lift so that's why I decided to upgrade.
