I just bought a brand new 09 DC TRD with the $3285 Off Road package...meaning it has every bell and whistle but leather. Stickered for $28,400 and I walked out the door for $23,950 on the dot.

Right now with all the plants cutting back and shutting down there is a shortage of new vehicles which is causing an even bigger problem a shortage of used vehicles. Manheim auctions are selling vehicles for $1-2K more than what their worth which in turn is keeping the cost high on the used vehicle market. Bad for someone looking for a used car but better for someone who is trading in on a new one. From what I have looked at over the last few weeks $20K for the truck your looking at is not that bad of a deal for a used but for $3 or $4 more you can have new. Just my .02.

Thanks guys...talked it over with the family and we might look into getting a new car for a few thousand more. Has anyone able to get the same setup for under 25k in Southern California?

Not a chance I would pay that for a Prerunner, you can get a new one for $23-$24 easy, higher resale value, better interest rates, and its yours from the beginning. The '09 also has more standard features. Also say what you will about the '09's ALSD but I've read a few reports from people that upgraded that it actually works better, especially offroad, than the LSD. People just bash it automatically because its 'not real'.

Walk in with a check in your hand and see how fast they get the price to $24,000.

OTD includes TT&T, aren't the taxes in cali ridiculous? You're gonna have to add taxes title and tags to the price on the used one too.

I'm paying just a bit over 26k for a 4x4 TRD Offroad DC v6 with towing package, 6 disc cd, DRL and all weather mats. Thats before TT&T, but tax here is only 3% and the title and tags is like $60. The prerunner with the same stuff was $2500 or so cheaper.

Though I know the prices went up a hair very recently, a couple dealers told me cut production way back and they weren't getting anything in thus prices increase because the demand is outweighing the supply atm.

Don't "call around." Get on the PC and shop dealer inventory via internet pricing. It'll be less than in person; and you can work dealers against one another to get the best deal before even leaving your house...then, you can get them down a bit more...ask me how I know
