I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.

I'm trying to help my dad with the process of selling his 1987 4WD Toyota Pickup. This was the first vehicle he ever bought new. He's the original owner and has put all 245,000 miles on the original 22R engine that's in it. I'll list what I know about the truck:

    • 245,000 miles on original 22R engine
    • Manual transmission
    • Well taken care of. Almost all miles are road miles.
    • New shocks, water pump, starter, and alternator.
    • Aftermarket radio with Pioneer speakers.
    • Tires have about 75% life left in them.
    Known issues:
    • Clear coat has faded on the roof and hood.
    • Driveline vibration around 50MPH, only happens occasionally. Unknown cause.
    • There is about 1/8" of play where the rear driveshaft meets the transmission.
    • Minor interior defects.
Truck has never burned oil, and still runs fantastic.

Do you guys have any idea what he could ask for it?

They are selling for about $3500 in that condition around here. Search your local CL to get a better idea.

That's right, no rust or frame rot anywhere on it. If it wasn't for the peeling clear coat you'd think the truck was almost new looking at it from the outside.

I've checked CL in my local area and didn't see any of these for sale. Auto Trader had these things selling anywhere from $3,500 - $10,000.

Right now we're thinking of listing it for $5,500 on CL and seeing if we can get any takers or offers.

Really appreciate your guys' input, though. It is a big help.

Yep, just give her a good cleaning inside and out and ask for $5500. You can always lower the price easier than raise it.
