Had the same described problem as the OP from 2016. LOVE this site! Blown fuse behind the 'coin tray' drivers left knee.
What caused it? Trying to switch out the front DRL/Turn signal with a SWITCH BACK LED. That didn't go so well... :(
Good news, the tail lights all work again!
Thanks to the members of this forum, ZERO $ spent fixing my screwup...

Also, same exact problem I was wiring my new Raptor LED's, and must have blown the 10A fuse behind the coin tray. Easy fix.
Found out the interior fuses behind the coin tray are "Low Profile Mini's", I assumed they were all standard mini fuses.
But a pack cost $5. Love this site. Has saved me thousands over the years!!

Does the grease used in 4 pin trailer light connectors conduct electricity (I mean, probably lmao). If so, could the grease be making contact between harness pins and shorting the circuit?

No, Dieelectric grease is not conductive.

I just had this problem. Daytime running lights were out front and back, tag light out. Blinkers, reverse light, and brake lights all worked. Looked at my tail fuse it was blown. Replaced now all good. I’m guessing a trailer I recently hooked it up to had a short and caused it to blow.

Did you ever find the problem? I’ve only switched my cabin driver side fuse box mini profile 10a fuse, which was blown, for a regular 10a fuse and lights still not working. What should my next step be? Is the mini fuse different than the regular? A video on YouTube said they’re interchangeable. I’ve looked under the hood and by the trailer light connection and wiggled things around.

Did you replace with the same mini profile fuse type? Or regular size fuse?

Just checked again and new fuse was blown again. Tried another again and it blew immediately after turning on car.

I had this happen and it ended up being cheap aftermarket trailer brakes had shorted causing issues with rear brake light fuse. After I disconnected trailer brakes and replaced fuse no more issues. Not sure you are having the same issue, but something to check/consider.

Tried it and still nothing. Took tail lights apart and diode got power when pressing brakes but not when no brakes [regular running lights]…

Unplug the tail light assemblies and see if the fuse still blows with them disconnected.

If it still blows then you have an issue with the truck wiring.

If it doesn't blow the problem is with one or both of the tail light assemblies.
