need help on wheel studs

hi i'm new to this forum. i have a 96 tacoma 4wd and i recently went to get my tire changed and found out that they mess up one of my studs. i want to change them. i did some research and it looks pretty easy. a friend of mine told me that the all wheel drive tacoma has springs in the back of the studs? wasn't sure about it. do anyone know about that? or is it just all the same like the 2wd tacomas?
