MINE: Ok guys, really could use some help on this one. As it currently sits, I have a 2010 Tacoma,Dbl cab,4x4, 63,xxx miles. No major accidents or problems besides a small crack on windshield.

THEIRS: (DEALER)http://www.maitatoyota.com/Certified-2010-Toyota-4Runner-SR5-Sacramento-CA/vd/19343001. Has all the bells and whistles, 4x4,leather,moonroof (makes wife really happy)..

So the dealer started at offering me 16K for the Tacoma I laughed at that. After an hour or two, I got him at my price I thought was fair for the truck 22.5 at trade in. I also have the truck fully paid off now as well. I currently have a 3 year old, and another little boy on the way any minute now. The final monthly price came out to 170 a month for 60 months, and for the 4runner about 32K out the door for everything. The 4runner seems more practical for my situation. However, just wanted to see what everyone else thinks, price, payment, etc...And if it would just be smarter to hold onto the truck and not have monthly payments. Thanks guys!

If you want a 4runner, get a 4runner. If you regret your decision they make more and more Tacomas every day.

i.ve owned both vehicles. as much as i love my taco, with a full family the 4runner is a better vehicle. you could add a topper to the tacoma and it would work, so that is an option to avoid a car payment.

$170 a month is really cheap and it is a brand new truck...

A little of this and a little of that.
If I followed along correctly, you're looking at $9500 difference (32K for 4R minus 22.5K trade for Tacoma). The only thing I don't like is the 60 mo. length of loan. I certainly don't know your finances, but I would want to shorten the time spent paying on the 4 year old 4Runner.

Good luck & congrats on the baby!

2010 and 65k miles for 29k. for about 3-5k more you could get a brand new 4runner.
