I was working on my truck today and accidentally grounded a positive wire in the fuse panel inside the truck. Now I have an ABS light on, my traction control off indicator, TPMS is flashing, and another light on that I don’t know.

I got rid of the CEL and the truck runs perfectly, but my fog light switch does not work as well as the trac off button. My backup camera does not work. The power windows do not work either or even my AC. Half of the AC panel lights up while the other half does not, but the AC itself will not turn on.

I tested every fuse in the engine compartment with a multimeter and they’re all good. In the cab fuse block, the Tail light fuse does not work, as well as the 3 door power window fuses. The tail lights work but the fuse doesn’t show continuity.

I disconnected both battery terminals for 10 minutes and touched the 2 terminal connectors together for a minute to do a hard reset. Still no luck, only got rid of the CEL. I tried replacing those 4 fuses that aren’t working and it did nothing. I’m at a loss at this point. Any help would be appreciated. No codes are thrown right now. Before I am told I should have disconnected the battery, I wasn’t even working on the electrical components. I was doing something else and accidentally pulled a wire out of the connector and it touched a ground bolt and made a pop.

I can’t seem to figure out why my switches and backup camera aren’t working if the tail light fuse and power window fuses are blown. The tail lights work just fine.

I wonder if you popped fusible link somewhere. Kinda hard to find w/o a wiring diagram though.

I’ve been looking and it seems all fuses are either under the hood or under the steering wheel

I think I'd look at the PW Relay and the 50A J/B

Just what circuit were you working on?

That you grounded what did you hit on your fuse block ??

Quite possible you caused some wires to open your going need to break out the meter .

Unless you can see melted wires .

Found the fuse that wasn’t working. The fuse itself if fine which is why it tested fine, but it wasn’t working for some reason. Got the truck all fixed now thanks for the help y’all

Quite possible the female side is arced leading to your open circuit.

Where you able to look at things to make sure it is ok

The wire was fuse protected and the fuse broke before I could cause any more damage luckily. No wires melted or anything

Care to share what fuse it was? Just for future reference if someone else in the future experiences the same symptoms.

The wire that shorted was linked to a fuse tap. That wire powers my CB radio. It came out of the connector and touched a bolt. The fuse tap was plugged into the IGN fuse, which controls pretty much everything which explains why nothing was working.
