I agree on the Roth, I have been planning on opening one for some time now just haven't had a chance to get by Edward Jones since school started. And you do not want to cut up your 30k+ truck either; at least i don't.

All very good points sir! I have been thinking about starting a Roth IRA. I just want to get a few more goodies before it comes time to start looking for a diamond, and I don't mean an axle

Just remember with retirement money it's *how long*, not how much. Even if you can only throw $25 or $50 a month into one now, that's better than $200 a month 15 years from now.

I've had mine going for about 3 years now, and because of school loans I can't put as much in as I want, but every little bit helps because the sooner it gets in, the longer it has to cook.

The rears on these trucks ramp pretty well, yeah...the real game though is front wheel travel...that's where the real deficit is for IFS.

I agree. I do like how you can remove any money that you have put in, but you cannot touch interest. I don't like how you can only put in a certain amount per year though, (i believe it is 5k? may be wrong)

The 5k limit is there to prevent the government from suddenly taking a massive tax revenue hit when the Roth generation retires.

Remember, since Roth IRA contributions are after tax, you pay no tax on the earnings when you withdraw, provided you are at least 59 1/2 when you do so. That's the major advantage for young people.

If you're older and closer to retirement (say, age 40+) 401ks make more sense, as your employer's match helps to get more money in the account with each contribution, making up for lost time.
