I installed my new AppRadio 3 this weekend. I initially wired it up with a relay as follows...

    - 30 pin to green pb wire
    - 85 pin to blue/white amp/pwr wire
    - 86/87 jumped and tied to ground from radio/harness.

Radio works fine, but nothing else. When I press menu hardware button on unit I get "button disabled", which leads me to believe it thinks I'm driving.

So I removed the relay and wired the green wire to the only wire I could find coming from the parking brake (I'll post images below). I used the provided clamp-on connector. I am still having the same issue.

My phone says it's paired with the device, but if I click the phone icon I get "no service".

Also, I hooked my multimeter to the green wire going to the parking brake to see if there were any voltage changes when I turn on the car / toggle parking brake, etc. It comes on at ~3v and stays 3v through the process.

Any ideas and what I should try next? Thanks.

You can try ordering a bypass off of Amazon / ebay, that might solve your problems.

I've got the AppRadio 4 and I still have no idea how to get the GPS and some other features to work (or if they're even available in Canada) - but at least with the 4 you get CarPlay so I don't really need to deal with the Pioneer side of things at all.

Thanks, I'll order one. I think the relay trick is not working because of the double-pulse, but I thought for sure wiring to the PB would work, unless I just didn't get a good connection. What a pain in the arse, all because stupid people will sue if you don't prevent them from being stupid. Doh!

Was able to get mine working by ghetto rigging a toggle this am before work. I'll be hooking up micro bypass when it arrives. If anyone fancies my elaborate setup below I can send you the kit with detailed install instructions for the low price of 29.95. Free shipping!
